According to some reports, LG is offering full refunds to the owners of faulty Nexus 5x devices, which are affected by a particular hardware flaw that causes the phone to get stuck in a boot loop. The Nexus 5x was developed by LG and have sold these devices in corporation with Google. But, after the recent release of Pixel phones, Google is no longer selling the Nexus 5x devices. Now, due to this hardware flaw in Nexus 5x devices, LG is issuing full refunds to the owners.
Refund Details:
This issue came to light on Reddit, when a user shares the snippet of an email, he received from LG. Here's a snippet from a customer service email received by a Nexus 5X owner:
Thank you for choosing LG Electronics for your mobile device! We recognize that you have numerous options when selecting a mobile device and it is our priority to provide you with the highest quality products and service.
We're sorry to hear that you've experienced a problem with your LGH790 and appreciate you giving us the opportunity to provide a warranty repair. We have received your device at our repair facility but currently a part to complete the repair is out of stock and is no longer available.
To rectify this issue, we would like to offer you a refund for the full amount of your device. That amount will be determined by your sales receipt. Your refund can take approximately 4 weeks to receive due to the holiday.
Many other Nexus 5x owners also claim on Reddit that they receive a same kind of email in response to their infected devices. Usually, when customers hand over a smartphone for in-warranty service, they will either wait for the manufacturer to fix the problem or receive a refurbished/new unit in return. But, in this case, the owners are receiving full refunds due to non-availability of a hardware part as the production of Nexus 5x devices is stopped.

However, getting a full reimbursement for a phone you have been using for a handy amount of time is something that I would like to label as blessing and LG is also handling this situation quite well.
