Android is Running on 88% of Smartphones Shipped in Third Quarter
Android is dominating the mobile devices for years and latest third quarter results show more domination of Google’s OS. The supremacy of Android over the other mobile platforms have caused the other mobile OS to almost vanish from scene. Latest quarter results show that 88% units of global shipped units during third quarter run Android OS, which means nearly 9 out of 10 devices are featuring Android OS. The only other competitive opponent of Android seems to be Apple iOS, which is also facing a downfall in its market share.

Although Samsung remains front-runner but the data also indicates that Samsung saw decline in the shipments comparing to 3Q of last year. This result shows that the top five brands remain unchanged compared to 3Q of 2015.
