Google has officially released the latest version of beloved Android OS, codename Nougat (Version 7.0 / 7.1), in August for all Android devices. Everyone is trying to get his fingers on latest version of Android and enjoy some mind-blowing features added in Nougat. Like before, Google’s smartphones (Nexus and Pixel series) are first Android devices to feature a Nougat update. However, after updating to the latest Nougat, some of the Nexus users have complained that they are facing strange battery issues.
Battery Issues:
A Nexus 6p owner has uploaded the video of his device facing the strange battery issue after updating to Nougat. According to him, the phone he’s obtained is an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and running on latest version of Nougat (Not the beta Version).
The problem arises when he takes some snapshots with Nexus 6p, then suddenly the device shuts off despite showing more than 50% charge. The Power button of the device also ceases and the only way he’s able to get the phone to respond is to plug it in and wait for the battery icon to appear. Then he manages to use the functions of power button. When this video got viral (specifically on Reddit forum), some other Nexus owners also responded with same type of battery issues.
Solutions:
As many Nexus 6p owners have stated their problems, some of them have also added different solutions, which actually worked for them. They were able to solve this strange battery issue by factory resetting the device (which is not the case with this video uploader). Another solution of this issue is to upgrade the device to the latest 7.1.1 version of Android Nougat.
However, latest releases of the OS versions usually face different issues, which were not rectified in testing or beta launch. But this issue is quite embarrassing for Nexus users and causing huge problems. Whatever the fix is, it should be sorted out immediately.
