ASUS ROG XBOX Ally X20: A Powerhouse 20th Anniversary Edition
Celebrating Two Decades of Gaming
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Gamers (ROG), ASUS has announced the ROG XBOX Ally X20. This special edition handheld is designed as a tribute to the brand's legacy, featuring a striking translucent black chassis with a gold-accented internal structure that gives it a premium, futuristic look.
Stunning Visuals and Performance
The Ally X20 is centered around a 7.4-inch ROG Nebula HDR OLED display, which supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) to ensure smooth, tear-free gaming. Powering the device is the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor. To keep the system cool under load, ASUS has overhauled the thermals with a three-pronged airflow path and larger diameter fans that improve airflow by 20%.
Precision Controls and Haptics
Gaming precision is a priority for the X20. It features joysticks with magnetic TMR sensors to virtually eliminate stick drift, boasting a tight 3% dead zone. The D-Pad is uniquely designed to switch between four-way and eight-way movement without needing any tools. Additionally, the device includes impulse triggers and new rubberized grips for better ergonomics during long sessions.
Software Enhancements and Armoury Crate
The experience is refined through the Armoury Crate Special Edition software. New Aura Sync modes, such as Reactive and Immersion, allow the lighting to react to joystick input or in-game audio. Users can also choose between HDR Native and HDR Vivid modes for optimized colors. A new 'Travel Mode' automatically limits charging to 65W when in Airplane Mode, making it more compatible with travel outlets.
Configurations and Pricing
The ROG XBOX Ally X20 is available in two distinct versions. The standalone device is priced at US$1,299. For those seeking the ultimate setup, the Ultra-Premium Bundle is available for US$2,499, which includes the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 AR glasses (featuring a 171-inch virtual screen), a custom dbrand Killswitch case, and a Pelican Protector Case.
