Apple launches 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 chip — up to 24 hours battery, Wi-Fi 7
What's new
Apple has announced the new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the all-new M6 chip. The laptop is available to pre-order from October 28, with general availability starting November 6, 2026. It comes in space black and silver finishes.
M6 chip: CPU, GPU and AI performance
The M6 features a 12-core CPU that Apple says includes the world's fastest CPU core. The 12-core GPU delivers up to 30 percent faster graphics and up to 25 percent faster AI workloads compared to the M5 chip. For users upgrading from an M1 MacBook Pro, the gains are even larger — up to 11x faster graphics and up to 13x faster AI performance.
The chip also includes additional Neural Accelerators in the GPU and a dual 16-core Neural Engine, making the MacBook Pro a more capable platform for on-device AI such as Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features, as well as running large language models locally while preserving user privacy.
Connectivity and battery
The 14-inch MacBook Pro now supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 for faster wireless connections. Apple claims up to 24 hours of battery life — the longest ever on a Mac — with the same performance whether plugged in or on battery power.
Display, camera and audio
The laptop retains the Liquid Retina XDR display with a nano-texture glass option. It includes a 12MP Center Stage camera for video calls and a six-speaker sound system with force-cancelling woofers.
Ports and macOS 27
The port selection remains comprehensive: MagSafe 3, three Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports, an HDMI port, an SDXC card slot, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The machine ships with macOS 27, which adds new Apple Intelligence capabilities and productivity features.
